Job Description
The Senior Energy Maintenance Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and safety of energy systems under the company's purview or for which it provides consultancy and inspection services. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and executing advanced engineering maintenance activities, focusing on both the technical and administrative aspects of preventive and corrective maintenance operations.
Key Expected Responsibilities:
- Lead, plan, and execute comprehensive maintenance strategies for energy-related equipment and systems (e.g., generation systems, distribution, control systems, or major industrial utilities).
- Conduct root cause failure analyses (RCFA), identify underlying issues, and develop effective plans to prevent recurrence.
- Develop and optimize Preventive Maintenance (PM) procedures and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs.
- Review and approve engineering plans, maintenance specifications, and procedural documentation.
- Provide technical supervision to maintenance teams and ensure compliance with the highest quality and safety standards (e.g., ISO standards, local and international regulations).
- Manage maintenance contracts and coordinate with external vendors and contractors.
- Prepare technical reports, performance reports, and analyze maintenance data to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Provide technical advice and oversight for system upgrade and modification projects.
Requirements and Qualifications
To qualify for this important role, you must meet the following criteria:
Educational Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited university.
- A Master's degree or advanced professional certifications (in Maintenance Management or Reliability Engineering) will be a strong added advantage.
Practical Experience:
- A minimum of 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in engineering maintenance, with a strong focus on energy systems or heavy industrial environments (e.g., power plants, refineries, petrochemical facilities, or major utilities).
- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within maintenance teams.
- In-depth understanding of Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) principles.
- Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and data analysis tools.
Required Skills:
- Comprehensive knowledge of international safety and quality standards and regulations in the energy sector.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills for solving complex problems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) in English; Arabic is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team and foster a culture of safety and quality.
