Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role within the project management team, focusing on large-scale, complex projects often executed through partnerships or consortia of multiple companies. Core responsibilities include:
- Integration and Coordination: Acting as the central liaison between various consortium partners to ensure seamless integration of all project subsystems and components.
- Interface Management: Identifying, managing, and tracking all technical and administrative interfaces between consortium members, ensuring alignment with client requirements and specifications.
- Project Planning & Monitoring: Contributing to detailed project schedule development, monitoring progress against key milestones, and identifying potential risks and delays.
- Quality & Compliance Assurance: Ensuring all work outputs and phases from different partners adhere to agreed-upon specifications, quality standards, and stringent safety regulations.
- Reporting: Preparing clear, comprehensive, and regular reports on integration status, challenges, and achievements for project management and client review.
- Conflict Resolution: Assisting in resolving disputes or technical issues that may arise between consortium members, working towards practical and effective solutions.
- Delivery Support: Ensuring all project elements are correctly integrated and ready for testing and final handover phases.
Qualifications and Essential Requirements
To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems) or Project Management. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is a strong advantage.
- Experience: Minimum 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in managing or integrating large-scale engineering projects, preferably in transport (railway, metro), energy, or infrastructure sectors. Prior experience working within project consortia or alliances is a fundamental requirement.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
- In-depth knowledge of Interface Management and Risk Management principles.
- Solid understanding of engineering and construction project lifecycles.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) in both English and Arabic.
- High-level negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
- Leadership skills and the capacity to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
- Attention to detail coupled with the ability to see the overall project picture.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
