Oman Investment Authority (OIA) is currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Legal Officer to join its legal team at the headquarters in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. As the sovereign wealth fund of Oman, OIA manages the state's investments across various sectors, making this a premier opportunity for legal professionals.

Job Description

The Legal Department at Oman Investment Authority is looking for a seasoned legal expert to provide top-tier legal counsel and support. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all legal aspects of the Authority's operations, including contract management, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution. This role demands a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of investment law, corporate governance, and international legal frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal advice to senior management and various business units on complex legal matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide array of contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support investment decisions and policy development.
  • Manage litigation and arbitration cases, coordinating with external law firms as necessary.
  • Ensure full compliance with Omani laws, regulations, and international standards.
  • Monitor and report on changes in legislation that may affect the Authority's investments.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of internal legal policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Law from an accredited university (Master's degree is highly preferred).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive legal experience, preferably in commercial, investment, or banking law.
  • Excellent command of both Arabic and English (written and spoken).
  • Strong knowledge of Omani laws and regulations.
  • Proven experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
