Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The successful developer will be an integral part of the technical team responsible for Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) systems. The core responsibilities of this position include:
- Development & Maintenance: Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining complex software components for ATFM systems, ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability.
- Requirements Analysis: Working closely with systems analysts and aviation engineers to understand operational requirements and translate them into effective software specifications and designs.
- Problem Solving: Diagnosing and resolving complex issues in live systems, ensuring minimal downtime and no impact on operational processes.
- Integration: Integrating new software solutions with existing systems to ensure seamless operation and consistency.
- Documentation: Preparing and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation, including design documents, user manuals, and test documentation.
- Compliance: Ensuring all developed solutions comply with relevant regulatory and safety standards in the aviation industry, both local and international.
- Technical Support: Providing technical support to end-users and the operations team as required.
Qualifications and Essential Requirements
To qualify for this specialized technical role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Work Experience: Proven practical experience of at least 3 to 5 years in software development, with a strong preference for candidates with prior experience in projects related to the aviation industry, air traffic systems, or safety-critical systems.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python.
- Experience in developing web applications and/or desktop applications.
- Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) and SQL.
- Understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and software architecture.
- Knowledge of Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) concepts will be a significant advantage.
