Job Description and Responsibilities
The appointed Anesthesia Specialist will be based at one of the company's hospitals or medical centers and will be responsible for a range of critical tasks, including:
- Conducting comprehensive pre-operative patient assessments to determine risks and formulate appropriate anesthesia plans.
- Administering and managing various types of anesthesia (general, regional, local) for surgical procedures across all specialties.
- Continuously monitoring the patient's vital signs throughout the surgery and anesthesia duration, taking immediate action to ensure patient stability.
- Supervising the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU/recovery) and ensuring the patient's safe emergence from anesthesia.
- Working as an integral part of a multidisciplinary medical team including surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia technicians.
- Adhering to the highest standards of safety, quality, and locally/internationally approved medical protocols.
- Participating in medical committees and contributing to the development of anesthesia and patient care protocols.
- Training and supervising technicians and junior residents within the anesthesia department.
Qualifications and Key Requirements
To be eligible for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) or its equivalent.
- Specialization: A recognized specialization certificate (Board) in Anesthesia and Intensive Care, or an equivalent fellowship (e.g., Arab Board, Jordanian Board, or equivalent international certifications).
- Licensing: A valid medical practice license in Anesthesia from a recognized country, with the ability to obtain a license from the Omani Ministry of Health.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of post-specialization practical experience in the field of anesthesia, with preference given to experience in large hospitals or multi-specialty medical centers.
- Skills: Full proficiency in various anesthesia techniques, ability to work under pressure, effective communication skills with the medical team and patients, and high attention to detail.
- Language: Proficiency in English for dealing with medical literature and an international team. Knowledge of Arabic is considered a significant advantage.

The work locations will be in two governorates:
