Job Description

The Assistant Accountant will be integrated into the company's finance and accounting team, providing crucial bookkeeping and financial support to ensure accurate and efficient operations. The daily tasks will involve working under the supervision of a Senior Accountant or Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist in preparing and posting daily journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Participate in accounts payable and accounts receivable reconciliation processes.
  • Aid in performing periodic bank reconciliations.
  • Support the invoicing, review, and collections follow-up processes.
  • Contribute to the preparation of auxiliary financial statements and reports.
  • Organize and maintain financial and accounting documents in an orderly and secure manner.
  • Provide administrative support to the finance department as required.
  • Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

Educational Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Preliminary accounting certifications or accredited training courses will be a distinct advantage.

Experience and Skills:

  • Previous experience (typically 0-3 years) in an accounting or finance role. Exceptional fresh graduates may be considered.
  • Good knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with accounting software or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems like SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics is a strong plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with utmost confidentiality and integrity.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Time management skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
