Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will play a central role in ensuring the smooth daily execution of logistics operations in compliance with the highest standards of quality and safety, particularly when handling chemical materials. Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating Shipment and Receipt Operations: Overseeing the scheduling and execution of goods (chemicals and products) transportation to and from warehouses and customers, ensuring adherence to all local and international road and sea freight regulations.
- Warehouse and Inventory Management: Assisting in monitoring warehouse inventory levels, ensuring the proper and safe storage of chemical materials according to approved storage standards (MSDS), and conducting periodic stock counts.
- Documentation and Shipment Processing: Accurately preparing and reviewing all necessary logistics documentation, such as shipping invoices (bills of lading), certificates of origin, customs documents, and loading orders, to ensure shipments are error-free and not delayed.
- Communication and Coordination: Acting as an effective liaison between the Sales, Procurement, Warehouse departments, and external transport and shipping companies. Providing regular updates on shipment statuses to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement and Compliance: Contributing to identifying areas for improvement in logistics processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency. Ensuring full compliance with all Saudi regulations concerning the storage and transportation of chemical and hazardous materials.
Required Qualifications and Skills
To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or any Engineering discipline.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of practical experience in logistics coordination or management, with preference given to experience in the chemical, manufacturing, or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sectors.
- Technical Skills: Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (especially Excel), with a good understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for logistics and inventory. Knowledge of international shipping and transport regulations is a strong advantage.
