Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be entrusted with critical tasks ensuring project success, delivery within defined boundaries, and adherence to quality standards. Core responsibilities include:
- Project Scope Management: Identifying, documenting, and defining project scope in detail in collaboration with stakeholders and technical teams. Monitoring any deviations from the baseline scope and systematically managing the Change Request process.
- Quality Assurance & Control: Developing and implementing project-specific Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) plans. Ensuring all work, materials, and equipment comply with technical specifications, contractual agreements, and approved international standards.
- Review and Evaluation: Conducting periodic audits and reviews of project processes to assess compliance with quality standards and scope of work. Preparing detailed reports on findings and providing corrective and preventive action recommendations.
- Coordination and Communication: Acting as a liaison between project management, contractors, consultants, and clients regarding scope and quality matters. Conducting follow-up meetings and delivering presentations.
- Document Management: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records for all scope and quality documentation, including work plans, inspection certificates, non-conformance reports, and close-out records.
- Risk Analysis: Identifying potential risks that could impact project scope or the quality of its deliverables and participating in the development of mitigation plans.
Qualifications and Essential Requirements
To be a successful candidate for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Architectural, Mechanical), Project Management, or a related field. A Master's degree or specialized certifications are a distinct advantage.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in project management, with a strong focus on scope management and quality control, preferably on major construction and infrastructure projects.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of project management principles (PMI), international quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001), and quality control methodologies. High proficiency in using project management software like Primavera P6 or MS Project, and MS Office tools.
- Professional Certifications: Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CMQ/OE (Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence) from ASQ, or their equivalents, are a significant competitive advantage.
- Personal Skills: Excellent analytical and investigative skills. Effective communication skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong leadership skills and the ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
