Job Overview and Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing all financial and accounting aspects related to the InfraCluster group's activities within the company. Core responsibilities are expected to include:
- Financial Leadership: Provide strategic and operational leadership to the accounts and finance team within the InfraCluster group, ensuring alignment with overall corporate objectives.
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) for the sector, ensuring accuracy and compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and internal policies.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and financial forecasting process for the cluster, monitor performance against approved budgets, and provide analysis and recommendations to senior management.
- Financial Analysis & Cost Control: Conduct in-depth financial analysis for infrastructure projects, monitor costs, improve margins, and identify opportunities for financial efficiency gains.
- Cash Flow & Working Capital Management: Supervise project cash flow management, monitor receivables and payables, and ensure optimal working capital levels.
- Compliance & Audit: Ensure full compliance with local Omani tax and legal regulations, and coordinate with internal and external audit bodies.
- Financial Risk Management: Identify and assess potential financial risks in projects and develop mitigation strategies.
- Team Development & Mentoring: Develop the skills of the finance team members and mentor them to achieve their full potential.
Qualifications and Essential Requirements
To be a successful candidate for this leadership role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Academic Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Professional certifications such as CMA (Certified Management Accountant), ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), or CA (Chartered Accountant) are a significant competitive advantage and often essential for the "Senior Manager" level.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with a strong focus on project financial management, particularly in infrastructure, construction, or engineering sectors. This must include at least 5 years in a leadership role (Manager or equivalent).
- Technical Knowledge: Advanced proficiency in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), project financial management systems, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software like SAP or Oracle. Solid knowledge of Omani tax regulations and customs procedures.
- Soft Skills: Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and technical teams. Exceptional analytical and complex problem-solving abilities. High accuracy, attention to detail, and the capacity to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Language: Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is a distinct advantage.
