Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The appointed Piping Engineer will be based at a project site in Saudi Arabia and will be responsible for a range of critical technical and engineering tasks, including but not limited to:
- Design & Engineering: Contributing to the detailed design phases of piping systems for hydrocarbon projects (refineries, chemical plants, gas facilities, etc.).
- Technical Documentation: Preparing and reviewing Piping Isometric drawings, material specifications, line class schedules, and Purchase Requisition/Order (PR/PO) documents related to piping components.
- Site Support: Providing technical support during procurement, construction, and installation phases on-site, ensuring work complies with approved specifications and designs.
- Interdisciplinary Coordination: Working closely with other engineering disciplines such as Mechanical, Civil, and Instrumentation & Control to ensure design integration and coherence.
- Standards Compliance: Ensuring all designs and work adhere to applicable international codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ANSI, API) as well as stringent client and company safety and quality standards.
- Problem-Solving: Identifying and resolving technical issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
Qualifications & Essential Requirements
To qualify for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in Piping Engineering, with a strong focus on oil & gas, hydrocarbon, or petrochemical projects.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong command of relevant Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, specifically tools like PDMS, SP3D, or AutoCAD. In-depth knowledge of international piping codes and standards.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), the ability to work effectively within a multicultural and multinational team, strong analytical skills, and the capability to manage time and meet deadlines.
- Location: The candidate must be willing and ready to work at the project site within Saudi Arabia.
