Job Description and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will assume the role of Sales Manager / Business Development with a specialization in African markets. The core responsibilities will be centered on leading commercial growth efforts and building a strong, sustainable presence across the African continent.
Key expected responsibilities include:
- Develop and Execute Sales Strategy: Lead the formulation and implementation of a comprehensive, integrated sales plan targeting specific countries and industry sectors in Africa, aligned with the company's overall strategic objectives.
- Identify Opportunities and Build Partnerships: Proactively hunt for new business opportunities, develop sales pipelines, and build and manage strategic relationships with potential partners and new clients in the region.

- Manage Client Relationships: Foster long-term relationships with key accounts, ensure client satisfaction, and understand their needs to develop appropriate solutions.
- Reporting and Analysis: Monitor market performance, analyze data and metrics, and prepare detailed periodic reports for senior management on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
- Corporate Representation: Represent the company at relevant international events, conferences, and trade exhibitions related to African markets.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be a successful candidate for this leadership role, you should meet the following criteria:
Required Experience and Skills:
- A minimum of 5-7 years of proven experience in sales or business development, with a strong track record of meeting and exceeding revenue targets.
- Direct, hands-on, and in-depth experience working with African markets. Knowledge of the business environment, commercial cultures, challenges, and opportunities in multiple African countries is a fundamental requirement.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a team spirit, and to manage time and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills in interpreting market data and making strategic decisions based on insights.
- Flexibility for frequent travel within Africa and internationally as required by the job.
Educational Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or a relevant master’s degree is a strong added advantage.
