Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The Training & Development Manager will be the primary leader responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating the company's comprehensive training strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and standards of excellence in the restaurant and cafe sector. Key responsibilities include:
- Training Strategy Development: Lead the Training Needs Analysis (TNA) process for staff at all levels (management, supervisors, customer service staff, chefs, baristas) across restaurant and cafe outlets.
- Program Design & Delivery: Create and develop innovative, effective training content covering service skills, food safety standards (HACCP), customer service, sales, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and new product training.
- Training Operations Management: Plan, schedule, and directly oversee the delivery of training sessions (in-person and virtual), ensuring efficient execution that accommodates restaurant operational schedules.
- Effectiveness Evaluation: Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of training programs on employee performance, customer satisfaction, and financial objectives, and prepare regular reports for senior management.
- Leadership Development: Design specialized programs to develop the leadership and managerial skills of restaurant managers and supervisors, including succession planning for key roles.
- Budget Management: Contribute to the preparation of and adhere to the training department budget, proposing the most cost-effective training solutions.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure all training programs comply with local Omani laws and regulations, as well as any global standards adopted by the company.
Qualifications & Requirements
To be a successful candidate for this leadership role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Academic Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Training & Development, or Hospitality Management. A master's degree or professional certifications in training are a distinct advantage.
- Professional Experience: Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in training and development, with a strong and proven focus on the restaurant, cafe, or general hospitality sector. Experience in a multi-outlet environment is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite, practical knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS). Ability to produce professional training materials.
