Volunteer in a Self-Determined learning school in the Black Forest

Volunteer Details:

• Location: St. Georgen, Germany

• Duration: 47 weeks, from September 9th, 2023, to July 31st, 2024

• Training during the activity:

Initially, there will be training sessions to welcome the volunteer and provide a clear understanding of their rights and responsibilities. Ongoing professional support will be available, including regular reflection talks led by an impartial individual outside the core group. The volunteer will also have access to weekly language training at the local adult education center to learn the host country's language. Furthermore, the volunteer will participate in two training courses organized by the National Agency in Germany, as well as attend an arrival seminar and a midterm training.

Funding Provided:

• Accommodation will be provided.

• Monthly salary, including food expenses, will be covered.

• A free transportation card will be provided.

Submission Requirements:

• Applicants should have a keen interest in educational work, particularly in alternative teaching methods.

• Open-minded individuals with a passion for democratic and alternative schooling, as well as a willingness to live in a rural area.

• The school emphasizes fostering independent and responsible learning in children, and the same is expected from staff and volunteers.

• Strong teamwork skills and a creative mindset are desired, with an ability to contribute to special projects.
